Firefighting Requires Water. And Funding.
Rural volunteer fire departments' annual budgets have long since been burned-through as they fight to protect rural Oklahomans and their property. Many Oklahoma rural water systems offer their water for firefighting at no cost to these fire departments. But water just isn't enough.
Help Oklahoma Rural Volunteer Fire Departments
That's why rural water systems from across Oklahoma have established a special fund through the Oklahoma Rural Water Association to collect donations and send them to volunteer fire departments to help them replace worn-out firefighting gear and equipment. Every dollar donated helps these firefighters be better prepared to fight the next wildfire.
